A prestigious black tie event in support of
Women’s Refuge Whanganui
Whanganui War Memorial Centre
We need to raise funds to complete our building ownership goal. We need to raise funds to continue the essential service we provide to victims of domestic violence in Whanganui. Your support means a lot to us.
Buy a Great Ball ticket (only a handful left) or offer cash sponsorship - we take assurance from every gesture of generosity and goodwill to make us even more effective in 2019 and beyond.
One in three women in New Zealand are affected by domestic violence. During the time guests are at The Great Ball on 3rd August, hard-working Refuge advocates in Whanganui will have answered calls from 9 women via our crisis line. That’s one woman every 50 minutes.
Women’s Refuge Whanganui, like all Refuges in New Zealand, go over and above what they are contracted to do. Cast your eye over this and you will see why (annual figures and actual delivery to 19 June 2019) and you will understand why we are stretched and why your support is the lifeline for so many women and children.
